Verizon has not notified the Union of a second off payroll date. As of today, they have notified those who will be leaving with the EIPP package by mail and manager notification. The Union leaders are talking with the company to negotiate letting those oversubscribed and those non-surplus titles also leave with this package.
The company went on a road show telling our members that anyone that wanted to leave this would be the time to go. We don't believe they expected as many to sign up to leave as they got and now they can't see how they can run their business if they let everyone leave. The Union has asked the company to bring back these laid-off workers to replace those oversubscribed and non-surplus workers. We will keep you informed of any agreements or changes.
