On wednesday meetings were held between Verizon, IBEW, and CWA. We are still in discussions on over subscription and nonsurplus members who have volunteered to take the offer. The total number is 683. The company wants everyone to go and they claim they can run the business without these members. Verizon made up these surplusnumbers in many titles especially the REP title. We have to protect those members who will stay on the payroll and the working conditions we will be left with. The 30 day discussions began last Mon. Talks will continue next mon and wed with the company to continue discussions on oversubcription and nonsurplus. We want to help all members who want to leave the chance to go.
